The Conch Republic - New Florida travels to Key West, the original "Conch Republic," which has more than one odd claim to fame. The noisiest, though, is surely its annual conch shell blowing contest, where each year, hopeful "horn" blowers of all ages compete in this noisy "conch honk" on the city's Sunset Pier. Musical ability is not a requirement, though some of the more skilled entrants DO manage to squeak out a recognizable tune.
