Be Bear Aware

such as the seafood leftovers in the dumpster behind Joanie's
Blue Crab Cafe in Ochopee. But the highway through Big Cypress
is a danger to bears and motorists who sometimes collide. New
Florida meets Stephanie Simek, Section Leader for
the Florida
Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Bear Management
Program, to talk about the "Be Bear Aware" program,
a campaign to raise public awareness about the state's growing
bear population and how people can co-exist in bear habitat.
