Wings of Freedom
- New Florida gets
a rare chance to meet one of the unsung heroes of World War
II, the B-17 bomber. One of only 7 currently flying, this
B-17 visits South Florida as part of the Wings of Freedom
Tour - an opportunity to teach the younger generation about
the sacrifices made for our freedom.

Unsung Sports
Hero - Her name and face may be familiar if you've
followed women's softball, basketball or golf over the last
fifty years. Joan Joyce is considered by many to be one of
the greatest female athletes of all times. She is known for
her fast moving slingshot pitch which was clocked at (reportedly)
over 115 miles an hour. Today, she is head coach of FAU's
Lady Owls softball team. New
Florida meets members and former members of the team,
who talk about what it's like to be coached by this sport's
legend.

of stress, but between the emergencies, the women and men
of the Palm Beach County
Fire & Rescue crochet away the pressure while making
hats and blankets for charity.
Florida Home – Part
